Oct 31st By-Election: Tokunbo Abiru Leadership Meets Grassroots Managers



As Ward Chairmen, Councillors, CDC and LACOSTA members vow to deliver huge votes for APC

Ahead of the Lagos East senatorial bye‐election , which is barely five weeks away, the campaign team of the APC standard bearer,  Mr Tokunbo Abiru, are leaving no stones unturned to ensure huge success for the party. The team met with various crutual Grassroots stakeholders, today, at the Somolu campaign office to further boost the chances of their Candidates at the October 31st polls. 

All ninety eight Lagos East APC's ward chairmen, councillors, Lagos State Governor council of Tradesmen and Artisans( LACOSTA) heads as well as community development committes ( CDC) Chairmen across the five LGAs & 11 LCDAs all vowed to support and work for the huge victory of Mr Tokunbo Abiru, with a promise to deliver their various wards for APC through massive campaign and mobilization of electorates.  

The Chairman of Lagos East Campaign Organization for the 2020 bye-election, Ashipa Kaoli Olusanya while addressing the grassroots leaders in separate meetings, said the party hierarchy knows votes from the grassroots are the best in numbers. Hence, there is need to consult with ward Chaimen who are grassroot mobilisers, councillors who are grassroot managers, CDC who are community leaders, artisans, religious organizations, youth, NURTW, market men/women and others, so he appealed to them to work for the success of the party and deliver. 

The Vice Chairman of the campaign team, Chief Bode Oyedele, Hon Alabi Kolade David, Hon Rotimi Abiru, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, Princess Samiat Bada, Hon Segun Olulade, Hon. M.A. Aigoro, Yeye Fausat Gbadebo, also canvassed for the support of the interest groups and assuring them of reaping the benefit. 

Other members of the party present at the meeting are Hon Sofola, Bldr. Sesan Daini, Hon John Osijo, and Alhaji Daud Abdulkareem (Ola Sheu).

Tokunbo Abiru, a former banker and Lagos State Commissioner of Finance emerged as the APC Lagos East Senatorial candidate in the primary election held on September 3rd across the main five local governments in the district while Hon. Femi Saheed emerged as flag bearer of the party for Kosofe Costituency 2 on the same day, to face the poll on October 31st.

Recall that the October 31st bye-elections in Lagos East and Kosofe Constituency 2 is necessitated by the demise of Senator Adebayo Osinowo of Nigerian Senate (Lagos East) and Hon. Tunde Buraimoh of Lagos State House of Assembly (Kosofe 2).
