Council Chairman Hon Alabi Kolade Lays Foundation Stone to Reconstruct Primary Schools (Details)


** All 30 Public Primary schools in Bariga set to benefit.

** As Alabi receives double award as the most outstanding council chairman on grassroots governance and sustainable  development in Lagos East and Lagos state.

History was made again in Bariga today , as the admnistration of  Hon Kolade Alabi was joined by the commisoner for Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Hon Wale Hamed, Commissioner for Education, (Hon Folashade Adefisayo) in the  landmark foundation laying ceremony for the construction of life- changing transformation of the 30 publicprimary schools in Bariga.

The facility, which is being planned architecturally to have complete modern facilities of international standard, is intended to meet the growing need of the school in terms of space, rebranding, and expansion and is expected to be completed in November 2020..

In his keynote address, Alabi said the building was a good legacy for the present and future children of the school, he said he is a proud product of public primary Schools and the need to change the narrative became expedient for him , and the opportunity to fulfill the desire as the executive chairman of Bariga local council .

Furthermore,  he said his modest contribution to governance at the local council fired the silver bullet in him and to the glory of God, he is now the National President of ALGON.

He mentioned that in his three years as council chief, he has been able to deliver 21 roads, touched education, health, youth and women empowement and environment.

The council boss, showing his guest around the architectural design of the Igbeyinadun and Adaranijo primary schools says the school will have classrooms with modern furniture for the pupils, a computer in the offices of the teachers as well as monitors for the pupils, there will also be a pavillion, sports centre, as well as 24 hours fire service stations to serve the good people of Bariga.

The commissioner for Education, Hon Folashade Adefisayo in her words said Alabi has taken a bold step and that the ministry is behind him, while Hon Wale Hamed,  the commissioner for Local government and chieftaincy affairs said Alabi is a good thinking and good product for the party because he is a product of APC, and he was indeed very glad as all his three visits to Bariga has been memorable as good things keep coming from Alabi.
The representative of SUBEB Chairman,  Hon Bayo Adefuye says education is the bedrock of any society and that education is paramount to govenor, in fulfillment of his T.H.E.M.E agenda.

Hon Rotimi Abiru ( LAHA Member Somolu constituency 2) , Hon Abdulsobur Olawale Omititi(Chairman House committee on Local Gorvement and Community Affairs) Hon Sesan Olanrewaju and Hon Wale Mogaji took turn to speak about the good works the chairman had been doing in Bariga and  that he has taken governance to the next level.

The Managing Director of Octragon, Engr. Gbolahan speaks more on the regeneration plan of the Alabi administration,  and Bariga brand ambassador,  Adunni Ade also spoke on the transformation agenda of the chairman.

The event was concluded by the double awards presented to Hon Kolade Alabi by The Review Journal, he was conferred with the Eko Grassroots Governance Awards as The Most Outstanding  Council Chairman of the year in Grassroots Governance and Development' (Lagos East) and also honoured as
'The Lagos State Most Outstanding Council Chairman Of The Year 2020 In Grassroots Governance and Development".

The event was attended by limited number of people with strict adherence to the  COVID-19 directives, was also  witnessed by the Vice Chairman,  Hon Adeola Zainot Kuponiyi,  Hon Tope Okanlawon( Leader of Bariga legislative Arm), and other councillors , Hon Bukola Adedeji( SLG) and other excos and appointees,  Mr Olufemi Ogundeko(CM) and other council officials, Hon Bayo Adefuye and  SUBEB team, Revd Timothy Oyasodun, Hon Dare Martins ( Somolu Education Secretary) , Hon Dimeji Lamuren , Hon John Osijo, Hon Biodun Orekoya, Hon William.Lawanson, and  Hon Doyin Banjo, Alhaja Raji, Hon Owoalade and Hon Nureni Okeowo..
