BARIGA STAFFS ELECTS NEW NULGE EXECUTIVE MEMBERS

As Eke Opeyemi emerged the Chairman with landslides.
The chairman of Bariga LCDA, Hon Kolade Alabi , was amongst those that witnessed the swearing in of a newly emerged NULGE executives today at the council Secretariat in Bawala.
The election that ushered in the new excos was anchored by the NULGE State Excos led by the State President , Comrade Afolabi Semako Ajose ,, and it was a violence free election devoid of any rancour.
The opening remark was given by the outgone chairman of NULGE Bariga , Comrade Olusola Bakare, who advised the staff to comport themselves properly as they have visitors in their midst, and to see the election as a friendly contest.
Earlier before the election, Hon Alabi in his speech admonished the staff especially the contestants to see the election as a call to service, he also reminded them of his call for harmonisation among the three groups to avoid election but they refused heeding to his call. After enumerating his impacts on the staff in the past two years , the one that made the Lagos state NULGE presented him with the award of the most staff welfare compliant in May 2018, he also promised to do more.
He ended his speech by saying that the choice is obvious.
The council manager, Mr Olufemi Ogundeko also gave them a fatherly advise , asking them not to be influenced by any external factor.
The seventeen positions were contested between the Patriots group, and the New Dawn group, about 296 members of staff out of 347 elgible to vote participated, casting their votes for their choice candidates without force or intimidation.
The Patriots group emerged the overall winner of the election in which six contestants from the New dawn stepped down before the start of the polls saw Eke Opeyemi Emmanuel emerged as the chairman with 235 votes to defeat Bakare Oluwatosin Ismaeel who was able to garner a paltry 58 votes . Ogunyinka Olaitan, Jaji Titilayo , and Ogunyoye Oliwaseun emerged as the Secretary, Vice Chairman and Treasurer respectively.

They were duly sworn in amidst funfair by Comrade Afolabi Ajose , the state president.
The council chief was joined at the event by the SLG , Hon Bukola Adedeji, Supervisor for Agric, Hon Hakeem Oshoala, legislators, and SAs .
