The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, had resolved the leadership conflicts among the markets association in Somolu as a community. Party leader, Hon. Ademorin Kuye (House of Rep member) who also former Council Chairman, Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe (immediate past Chairman of Somolu LG) and Hon. Rotimi Olowo (Lagos State House of Assembly Member) were joined by APC bigwigs in Somolu were at the peaceful meeting.

It was a large meeting of peace and conflict resolution among the market men and women association in Somolu as the Council Boss, Dullar, and two of his predecessors were also at the meeting to stabilize leadership issues among the 'olojas'.

The leadership tussle among the market leaders in Somolu which had lead to series of protests to oust the Iyaloja General of Somolu Markets, Chief Modupe Olufojude, was resolved with intervention from the apex leaders of APC in Somolu.

Giving enough time for all aggrieved market representatives from the eight markets to pour out the grievances, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu made the party leaders to take the lead in responding to the conflicts and reports.

Political leaders at the meeting include Chief Sikiru A. Asenuga, Apostle Peter Oyewusi, Alhaji Bakare, Chief Layo Benson, Hon. Demola Olisa-Adefalujo, Hon. Lawal and Hon. Dosu Matuluko who acted as Secretary to the leaders.

While responding to the reports, Chief Asenuga made it known to the markets representatives that markets belong to the government and the administrators (Iyaloja and Babaloja) of the markets should encourage the government to upgrade and build more markets for the people of Somolu.

While Hon. Ademorin Kuye narrated his success story of building the Somolu Model market at Onipanu despite the hiccups and discouragement, Hon. Rotimi Olowo encouraged the traders to join politics but to avoid discrimination. The duo of Kuye and Olowo also preach peace and unity among the market men and women association. Hon. Gbolahan Bagostowe also admonished the market leaders to put the spirit of teamwork into play. APC Chairman in Somolu, Hon. Femi Taiwo, admonished the embattled Iyaloja to learn from the brouhaha and make a conspicuous improvement in the administration of markets in Somolu.

Chief Modupe Olufojude, the Iyaloja, stood on her feet and apologize for any of her shortcomings and promise to work with her team in each market. "I'm not here to defend myself on anybody the allegations but to appreciate the government and party while I apologize to my market leaders and family, let's work together as siblings as we've been doing", Madupe said.

The Executive Chairman of Somolu LG, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, in his reaction, made it known to the markets leaders to have a formidable house that is not divided against itself. "Since Iyaloja has apologized to this house and her market leaders, let's work with her to move forward", the Chairman said.

Representatives from Alade, Alasela, Alarepe, Sunday, Hassan, Olaleye, Oyediran, and Somolu Model markets attended the meeting, ready for peace talks due to previous meetings held with the Council Mayor separately in the same issue.

The leader of Somolu Legislative Council, Hon. Yomi Osunkoya, Hon. Adewale Oseni (Supervisor for Agric and Community Affairs), Hon. Rasak Tajudeen (Special Adviser on Market Matters to the Chairman) and Hon. Omolola Robiu (SSA on Market Matters to the Chairman) were also at the meeting.
