2019 General Election Delay: Dullar Sue For Peace, Patience (Photos)


The Executive Chairman of Somolu Local Government, Hon. Abdul Hamed Salawu, had expressed his displeasure at the postponement of election by Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC.

According to the Mayor of Somolu, the timing of the postponement came just few hours to the commencement of the presidential and national assembly elections, which the preparation was on top gear in the last few weeks.

The Director of Local Governments Affairs in the Babajide Olusola Sanwo-Olu Independent Campaign Group (BOSICG), said may Nigerians in diaspora had travelled to Nigeria for their civic right to be performed.

The INEC Chairman, Prof. Mahmood Yakubu, Earlier today, had announce the postponement of the general elections by one week. Presidential and National Assembly elections postponed to February 23 while Governorship and States House of Assembly elections postponed to March 9, 2019.

However, the Execution Chairman had appealed to Nigerians, Lagosians and Somolites in particular, to be calm and patience with the national electoral body as the perseverance will earn the ruling party, APC, victory at the poll.

He also added that if INEC office will be opened for PVC collection, people who are yet to receive their PVC should maximize such opportunity to do so.

The eloquent speaking council boss said citizens should be law abiding and security conscious before, during and after the general election. "Parents should caution their children about violent activities and criminality as security agencies are on ground to arrest any criminal activities", Dullar said.
