Recall that late Honourable Solomon Adewale Awokoya popularly known as  Ogbogbon was councillor of Ward C Bariga LCDA, Lagos State from All Progressive Congress before he kicks the bucket months ago.

Bariga LCDA regretted the death of the late Adewale, but until now his constituency has mourn and cried out for another representative at the Bariga legislative Arm which brought on board Honourable Sowande Olufemi from the same ruling party All Progressive Congress as the flag bearer of the party in the just concluded constitutionally bye-election, the ward which comprises of 33 polling unit and the authorised authority to conduct the bye-election Lagos State independent Electoral Commission (LASIEC) staff were present to discharge their official duty.

However the success of any election depends on efficient planning and its conduct, i.e accreditation, voting, counting, collation and results declaration. Each of these processes feeds into the next. Collation and declaration of results are critical stages in the election process. Failure to complete the collation and transmission of results in a quick, transparent and accurate manner can jeopardize public confidence and the credibility of the elections and will most likely affect whether candidates and political parties acceptance to the final results, which make us to make it lucid that the election has been seen as free and fair election at the local council.

However, the accreditation started around 8:00am while voting commence and thereafter the LASIEC allowed the resident to execute their franchise.

The result gotten from the various polling unit were sum up to get the winner of the election correlating to the brief analysis below.

Mr Oladiran the Returning Officer for the election, declaring the result at the  CMS primary school collation centre in Bariga LCDA said Sowande polled 1, 442 votes  to emerge winner.

He defeated his closest rival, Taiwo Azeez of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP),  who polled  286 votes.

The returning officer declared Sowande Olufemi of All Progressive Congress winner of the bye-election haven scored the highest vote in the election,this was disclosed at CMS Grammar School collation center located at Bariga LCDA in Lagos State.

 “Having complied with the requirements of the law and scored the majority number of votes, the aforementioned person from All Progressive Congress (APC) is hereby elected and returned” says Oladiran.

That is how all APC candidates will emerged come 2019 General Election.
